Finals weekend at Palermo.
The two teams to get through to the final of the 121st Argentine Open championship are La Dolfina and Ellerstina.
Saturday’s match, played between La Dolfina and La Aguada, was a close game with no more than one goal between them. That was until the sixth chukka when La Dolfina seemed to step up a gear. The quartet opened up a lead and went on to win the game 17 goals to 11. So La Dolfina go through to next weekend’s final, and the question on everyone’s lips is “will they win the Triple Crown for a second time in a row?”
Tuesday’s match between Ellerstina and Alegria (postponed from Sunday because of rain) started with Ellerstina being put on the back foot, going a goal behind. The first five chukkas saw a close match with Ellerstina gaining the lead and holding it by one and sometimes two goals. By the seventh chukka Ellerstina were starting to dominate the game with a lead of 14-11. The scene was set and Ellerstina won their place in the final with a score of 17 goals to 13.
